Valerie is excited to join the theater community in Los Angeles during this creative and turbulent time. She is committed to creating theater that is relevant and topical for the LA community. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and recognizes the value theater has in bringing people together to share experiences that help us connect to our humanity.
Valerie began her career as an actress in regional theater on both the East and West coasts. She grew up in Oregon and over the years has performed with many theaters in Portland, including Artist's Repertory Theater, Portland Center Stage, and Profile Theater Project. Some of her favorite experiences were playing the role of Agnes in Tracy Lett's 'Bug', and Sonya in a creative interpretation of Chekov's 'Uncle Vanya' staring William Hurt, both at Artist's Rep. The most exciting time of her life was the adventure of developing a successful theater company with like-minded theater practitioners to form Third Rail Repertory Theater in Portland. She is proud to have received recognition for her work in the Portland theater community as the recipient of the Portland 'Drammy' award, several times over. On the East coast she enjoyed acting in seasons at the Williamstown Theater Festival in Massachusetts, Ford's Theater in DC, and performing in Off- Broadway endeavors in New York City.
